Our health is undeniably our greatest wealth.

I’ve made it my mission to make my 40s the healthiest decade of my life so far. Maximising whole plant foods, regular strength training, hydration, meditation and adequate sleep. While this may optimise my inner health, I am increasingly becoming aware of the fact that human health is impossible without planetary health.

Adequate freshwater, non-toxic foods, clean air and a stable climate are all survival requirements which are rapidly being depleted in our society’s quest to completely commodify the natural world – converting life-support systems (forests, soils, oceans and wildlife) into cash. Will we wake up in time to realise that we cannot drink, eat or breathe money?

Either we change our routines or go extinct. It's really as simple as that. We have to act fast, in order to realistically secure our survival and health. Here's how

Back to the microcosm of my individual self, I went for a run today with my mouth closed breathing only through my nose. I became acutely aware of the sweetness of oxygen – that life-giving molecule produced by the very trees and oceans we are burning and emptying.

Becoming physically and mentally strong is the foundation for serving the less fortunate and the planet. A tiny investment that ripples through existence itself. Forged by discipline and perseverance, and fuelled by empathy and imagining what it must feel like to not have our basic necessities met.
